IU and Microsoft expand partnership

IU’s new four-year agreement with Microsoft includes productivity tools for students, faculty, and staff and enterprise server products for departments and schools.

The first of its kind, the partnership provides full institutional coverage and embodies the philosophy of abundance adopted in Empowering People, the new strategic plan for IT. All IU campuses gain more access to Microsoft enterprise licensing, cloud services, and converged communications.

Through their LSPs, departments and schools will be able to take advantage of unlimited use enterprise server products such as SQL Server, Windows Server, SharePoint Server, and Configuration Manager Server at no cost.

Through IUware Online, students, faculty, and staff will be able to download a range of personal productivity titles — including operating systems and the MS Office suite of products — at no cost (campus bookstores will also distribute software media for a nominal fee).
