Social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook help you keep tabs on your friends and meet likeminded people. They also create relaxed environments that make it easy to forget that you’re in a public space.

When you log on to these sites, keep in mind the key rule of social networking on the web: Once you post personal information online, you can never take it back.
