* Summer IU wireless network upgrade
Beginning the week of May 31 and continuing throughout the summer, IU will upgrade the wireless network in all buildings at IU Bloomington and IUPUI. The wireless network will be available throughout the upgrade, and the new access points will increase network speed and connection reliability. For more about IU Secure wireless, see:

* IU first university to offer tablet publications on iTunes
Using Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), IU’s Libris app makes a number of IU magazines and other DPS publications available for free distribution to the iPad. Publications include IU Teaching & Learning, IUPUI Alumni Magazine, and the Principles of Excellence publication from IU President Michael McRobbie’s office. For more, see:

* IU students and faculty receive Sony scholarships
Five IU students and two faculty members received Sony Scholarships designed to support faculty excellence and encourage student success with the latest learning technology resources. Faculty members Jingzhi Pu and Stephanie Whitehead — along with students Innocent Byiringiro, Dustin Dannerhauer, Virginia Jimenez, Alexandrai Rentschler, and
Jennifer Wasmund — received VAIO S Series Notebooks, full high def Memory Card Camcorders, and more. Read the news release at:

* Coming this month: New UITS IT Training web site
Soon, finding the training workshops you need will be easier thanks to a redesign of the UITS IT Training web site.
