GlobalNOC’s Worldview on display at Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Nearly one million people will get a chance to see the best IT@IU has to offer at this year’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival. The free festival is a cultural expo taking place on the National Mall in Washington, DC, from June 27 to July 1 and July 4-8.

IU’s exhibit will showcase the university’s role as a high-tech innovator and its dedication to preserving Indiana’s rich cultural traditions. GlobalNOC’s Worldview will be a main feature of the display. This interactive, three-dimensional system uses global positions systems (GPS) and software developed at IU to visualize multiple layers of real-time network data.
