Wallace to be named InCNTRE executive director

The Indiana Center for Network Translational Research and Education (InCNTRE) has announced that Steve Wallace will step into the role of acting executive director. Wallace succeeds Matt Davy, who is transitioning to a new position in the private sector. Supported by IU, InCNTRE seeks to advance development, increase knowledge, and encourage adoption of software-defined networking (SDN) technologies through education, research, and collaboration. Wallace has been with InCNTRE since its formation.

“Steve’s passion and knowledge about SDN technologies make him an ideal leader for InCNTRE,” said David E. Jent, IU associate vice president of networks. “His track record of innovative networking solutions, combined with his deep understanding of IU’s strengths, will make for a bright future.”

“SDN is by far the most exciting development in networking that I’ve seen in the last decade,” noted Wallace. “For the first time in my career, industry and university research are working together to chart the future of network technology. As executive director of InCNTRE, I will continue to bridge the two.”
