IU Kokomo web designers honored for using IU’s WCMS to power digital signs

IU Kokomo’s web services team earned top honors for creativity and innovation at a recent Cascade Server Conference in Atlanta. The team won an award for using IU’s WCMS (Cascade Server) to run campus digital signs. The WCMS is primarily used to create websites, but the IU Kokomo team took it a step further and used it to run campus digital signs.

“We’re proud to be recognized by other campuses outside the IU system for our innovative use of technology,” said Ed Ventura, digital media specialist. “It’s a big win for us. We developed a relationship with other campuses to create something that can be used university-wide. It has the potential to save us a lot of money, but beyond that, we’ve proven how powerful the web content management system can be.”
