IU’s security structure keeps it agile in times of crisis

A strong and capable information technology infrastructure is key to a campus’s emergency response, but most college campuses keep physical security and information technology administratively separate. This can create confusion and introduce critical flaws in the process if the two groups aren’t perfectly coordinated.

Five years ago, IU recognized that combining the two under one umbrella would make for an agile and speedy response to emergency situations. The bold move is an unusual experiment, but so far it’s yielding good results.
