What to do if Box is asking you to change your password

Some of you may have received notice from Box or another cloud-based vendor asking you to change your password in light of the Heartbleed vulnerability. But, most of you probably log into Box with your IU credentials, and your IU passphrase does not need to be changed.

When you connect to an IU-provided cloud service using your IU network ID, UITS uses certain technologies to ensure that your passphrase is safe. In other words, we have it locked up tight.

The notice from Box is still valid, though, because Box also has a vendor password — and that’s what they’re asking you to change.
