Today (Aug. 1), 16 months after the first shovel broke ground, the new concrete, limestone, steel, and glass Cyberinfrastructure Building (CIB) is opening its doors, ending a nearly 10-year search for a solid and sustainable workplace for IT staff at IU Bloomington.
This week’s lineup features a CIB update, Faculty Fellowships in the Digital Arts and Humanities, programming workshops, the IU class and lecture series on sustainability, and the IU Bloomington STCs.
This video recounting the history of the Cyberinfrastructure Building (CIB), the new home for the majority of IU Bloomington’s IT staff, was shown at the recent groundbreaking of the new CIB. The CIB joins IU’s $32.7M Data Center and its $10M Innovation Center at the corner of 10th Street and the 45/46 Bypass in Bloomington as the foundation for the university’s expanding technology park.
IU President McRobbie joined other dignitaries in a ceremony breaking ground for IU’s new, innovative headquarters for the university’s technology staff.
